The Shuttered Room (1967)
Well, again this movie has nothing really to do with the story of the same name. A friend loaned me this film, of which there was only the first half unfortunately...or maybe that was good fortune. The way the movie was heading, I might have been spared without knowing it. The plot concerns the Whateley clan, who live on Dunwich Island. Of course, on this island, Whateleys are a dime a dozen. The main character, Susanna Whateley was moved to New York at the age of four, to distance her from the family curse. Well, after marrying, they are informed of an inheritance of her parents farmhouse on the island. Upon her arrival to reclaim the house, the other Whateleys realize that a Whateley living in the abandoned farmhouse will stir the old evil slumbering in that accursed place. sroom1.wav A young Susanna gets attacked/mauled/tickled by an unseen terror. sroom2.wav "Lots o' people around here named Whateley." sroom3.wav Not very hospitable people on this island. sroom5.wav "...She's come back." sroom7.wav Aunt Whateley tells the two newlyweds that they can't stay in the house...if they value their life.
