Futurama
A Bicyclops Built for Two (2000)
Written by Eric Kaplan. Produced by Matt Groening and David Cohen.

When Leela discovers that she is not the last cyclops in the Universe, she makes plans to meet with Alkazar, a male cyclops who tells Leela how she became the last female of their race. When Leela accepts Alkazar's marriage proposal, Fry tries to convince her that Alkazar is all wrong for her and Fry and Bender set out to gather evidence before Leela walks down the aisle.   What Fry and Bender find are three other brides, all of whom are to marry Alkazar...which he is more than fit to do as a shapeshifter.
The main reason I included this show in Cinemagoria, because I can't quite get over the fact that one of the alien creatures looks so damn similar to a Yithian.  I mean cone shaped body, pincer hands and a third arm which has smaller trumpet-like shapes (however on this interpretation it serves as a tail-like apendage), and of course the head with its tendrils and eyes that run the circumference of the head.  Now that my folks has to be a Yithian.  I'd like to know who exerted their Lovecraftian influence on this ep., whether its the writer, one of the lead animator or character designers or Matt Groening himself...very interesting.

Thanks go out to the ever vigilint Jason Miller, Master of Time & Space and the Keeper of the Sacred Discs of Numan

futurama1.rm  Could this be what a Yithian sounds like??
